Physician Joins InterCare's Eau Claire Practice

NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bangor, Michigan -- InterCare Community Health Network is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Jennifer Parks to its medical practice at 6270 W. Main Street in Eau Claire. Dr. Parks is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and joins Dr. David Collins who has been at InterCare's Eau Claire location since 1997.

Prior to joining InterCare, Dr. Parks had practiced medicine for Zeeland Community and Ionia County Memorial Hospitals and most recently served as a locum tenens physician at the Kalamazoo Family Health Center. She received her bachelor's degree from Hope College in 1996 and her medical degree in 2002 from MSU's College of Human Medicine in East Lansing. Dr. Parks completed a three-year family practice residency in 2005 at Grand Rapids Family Practice Residency Program. Dr. Parks has served as a volunteer at Cristo Rey Clinic in Lansing and the CASA Program in Holland.

In announcing Dr. Park's arrival to InterCare's Eau Claire practice, Velma Hendershott, CEO, stated, "We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Parks to our InterCare family. She is a most caring and dedicated physician and will significantly increase our organization's capacity to serve the many unmet health care needs of the residents in the southern part of Berrien County, as well as of the thousands of farmworkers who migrate to Berrien County each summer."

InterCare Community Health Network is a non-profit system of primary medical and dental care practices that was founded with the mission of providing open access to needed health care services. InterCare is a federally designated community and migrant health center and offers a sliding fee program to eligible families and individuals. The organization operates facilities at five other locations in west and southwest Michigan, serving approximately 50,000 patients each year. InterCare's hallmark throughout its thirty-six year history has been its commitment to the uninsured and underserved and its focus on serving families with Medicaid.

Services available at InterCare's Eau Claire office include obstetrics, pediatrics, and adult/geriatric health care. InterCare has also offered dental treatment and hygiene services at this location since 2008 and operates a state certified Maternal and Infant Health Program for high risk pregnant women and infants.
