Agricultural Worker Outreach Program
InterCare is the largest provider of migrant health services in Michigan, which is the sixth largest user of agricultural workers in the nation. It is estimated that approximately 30,000 farmworkers and their families work in Michigan’s agricultural industry each season creating a significant seasonal demand for health services through our network.
InterCare provides bilingual services at all of its locations. Each year, our outreach teams work hard to identify health needs amongst the farmworker population and ensure they have access to all of our services. Services are available through expanded seasonal hours at all of our locations and on our medical and dental vans. InterCare also offers transportation, in-camp health assessments, Medicaid eligibility assistance, and linkages to other needed support services. Agricultural workers face many socioeconomic and health challenges. InterCare is committed to helping address those challenges all year long.
